Teacher Tips

Every teachers best friend is Youtube!

A teachers best friend when using music videos to teach literacy skills! This is a great way to keep the students engaged as well as eager to learn more information.

Using iPads for a photo scavenger hunt!

Using iPads, the students would be able to take pictures of key objects around the classroom and tie them together to create a story where they can make either a video, drawing or short story! This a great way to implement collaboration with peers as well as provide an opportunity for the student to get our of their desks, walk around and have fun learning literacy skills.

Be just as smart as your smart board!

If your school provides smart boards, it is an excellent way to introduce a literacy concept in the form a game show! This will have the students participating and collaborating with their peers as they put their minds together and come to agreements on concepts and topics.

Including Tech with Readers Theater!

Using a recording device on a iPad, phone or even an old fashioned camera, teachers can record their students participating in readers theater and upload to an online classroom blog or even youtube! This can help with retaining new literary information as well as act as a reference that your students can access when needed.
