Epic! is a fabulous app that can be implemented into literacy lessons through iPads, computers and smartphones! This app has a numerous amount of benefits that includes online texts that are grade level as well as age appropriate for the classroom! Students can read aloud, listen to audio passages, highlight and even has parent access to check for progress of reading skills!

Literacy Zone is online website that can be accessed on the computer or even an iPad or smartphone! This website consists of fun and engaging literacy games that includes working on letter formations and sounds, blending and clusters of words, spelling, punctuation and even assistance in writing texts.

Raz-Kids is a fan-teacher-tastic website and App that can be used to implement technology into you literacy lessons through both computers and iPads! This website provides so many useful grade level books that can have teacher and student access. Running records are provided as well for individual passages where teachers can keep track of their students literacy skills and targets.

Photo Tales is an app that is full of fun and engaging literacy activities. Students are able to work on creativity and originality by creating their own personal stories through photographs, voice recordings, different languages (useful for ESL-Bilingual Classrooms), and even writing.

Puppet  Pals is great for use on both the computer and an iPad. This unique app allows students to create their own puppet shows while still developing key literacy skills. While creating their own show, the students create their own story line, write the script, work on story elements, and even focus on a specific topic such as an assigned president or other person of interest the class is focusing on! This also allows the students to work in groups and an opportunity for them to eventually act out the play in a readers theater! Teachers, do not miss out of this app!
